Join me for a Layout a Day Challenge

Hello everyone! I am hosting a Layout a Day challenge over on the Scrap, Etc forums. Each day I will start a thread for everyone to link up that day's layout. You can post it in the gallery at Scrap, Etc, on your blog, or anywhere online and just post a link on that day's thread in the forums over on the Scrap, Etc website.

For the LOAD challenge this week I don't think I'm going to put specific guidelines for each day. The only guideline is that you must do something scrapbooking related. Want to do a layout one day? Great. Want to do a mini one day? Fabulous. Want to do a card? Do 2 cards to count. Want to do a digital layout each day? Go for it. You do however have to link one project each day over on the Scrap, Etc forum thread. You can't wait until the end of the week and link them all at one time.

Now I know some of you may be thinking "I just can't handle it this week." Well, yes you can. If I can with all that's on my plate this week (including my mother-in-law having surgery & a trip to my mom's & being the mom taxi) you can do it as well. Just don't make it more difficult that it is.

And did I mention there would be a prize? Everyone who links up a layout everyday will be put into a drawing for a prize. Not exactly sure what it will be just yet, but it will be good.

Photography Class - Saturday at Scrap, Etc

Have you invested in a digital SLR camera? Are you still using it in full automatic mode? You know, that green rectangle? A digital SLR is definitely an investment, but are you getting the most out of that investment?
 
Join me at Scrap, Etc on Saturday, March 28 at 10 a.m. to learn how you can move off that green rectangle and have more control with your photography. We'll learn all about those other settings on your camera and unlock those scary words like shutter speed, aperture and ISO. It's not rocket science I promise. It just takes some practice and getting past the fear of moving your camera off the green rectangle. Once you do though you will be so glad you did. :)

Scrapbooking

Just sharing some layouts I made for Scrap, Etc. These were from the first of January, but I am just getting around to posting them. I really like all three of these pages. I like the "epic" card too. The other card is definitely different from what I would normally do. Thanks for looking!

This first one just a photo of DS and our nieces and nephews at an Alabama football game.

 

This next one is photos I took at Frontier Days at Fort Toulouse. I loved using all the little photos in a strip.

 

And on this one I used photos I took of DS to use for our Christmas card. This page is perfect for him. He's all boy and life is definitely more extreme with him around. :)

Birthday Calendar Class

I'm so excited to be doing my first class at Scrap, Etc in just a couple of weeks! I know it's the Christmas Season, but I always start thinking about birthdays about this time of year also, trying to get a little ahead for next year.

So for my first class! (I'm so excited! Can you tell?)We'll be making this birthday calendar using papers from Basic Grey's cupcake line and some Creative Cafe polka dotted felt. This great little calendar is perfect to hang on your fridge to help you remember (I need all the help I can get) all those special days for the amazing people in your life. The calendar would make a great gift for a friend or for yourself!

All info is below. I hope you'll join me. Just call Scrap, Etc at 205-985-9323  to sign up or to reserve a kit if you'd like one, but can't make it. We'll also be making a couple of birthday cards to go with it. The cost is $20. Date: Saturday, December 13, 10:30 a.m.

Supplies you'll need: paper trimmer, scissors, glue pen if you have one (if not you can use mine), pencil, adhesive for adhering chipboard and felt (i use glue dots for felt). Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions.

 

Creative Cafe in December

Lisa has some great little projects planned for the Creative Cafe Happy Hours in December at Scrap, Etc. Check out  everything she has planned here. I'll be hosting one on Saturday, December 13 after my very first class at Scrap, Etc.!(More info on the class coming soon.) I also designed the project for the Happy Hour I'm hosting. Check out the photos below. I'm really excited with how this one turned out! I'm going to add a stamp on the little label on the back that says to and from. The label is a pocket perfect for a gift card or money. Tie it to a package or to the tree.  Man I love that polka dotted felt!

 

Scrapping

I haven't had time to post these last layouts that I did for Scrap, Etc. I love the little mini I did with the JSU photos. I won't bore  you with each page of it though. :) And sorry about the poor lighting and not cropping. I'll do better next time. :)
